ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has launched a fresh enforcement operation against illegal construction and building bylaw violations along Islamabad Expressway, particularly the Service Road East corridor.
CDA’s Building Control Section and Enforcement Directorate are conducting the operation with support from the district administration and Islamabad Police. Properties found violating approved plans or building regulations may face sealing or other enforcement measures, while eligible cases may be considered for regularisation.
Action Coincides With Road Upgrade
The enforcement drive comes as CDA is also working on the widening and rehabilitation of the approximately 9-kilometre Service Road East section between Faizabad and Gulberg.
The simultaneous focus on construction compliance and road infrastructure makes the corridor an important area for property owners and businesses operating along the route.
Nearby Roads Also Under Scrutiny
CDA has separately taken action against construction sites along Islamabad Highway, indicating that enforcement activity is currently extending across several major road corridors in the capital.
However, the authority has not disclosed the total number of properties targeted in the latest Expressway operation or provided a completion timeline.
Property owners and investors along Islamabad Expressway, particularly Service Road East, should verify their building approvals, approved plans and regulatory status. They should also check whether their properties could be affected by ongoing or planned road development.
