Affectees of Anti-Encroachment Drive to Get Plots
Sindh will provide alternative plots to those affected by the ongoing anti-encroachment campaign along Karachi’s drains, particularly Gujjar nullah.
According to reports, the administration of the province will appoint a panel for this purpose, which will be overseen by a retired Supreme Court judge.

People affected by the anti-encroachment campaign in the Gujjar, Orangi, and other nullahs of the port city would receive 80-yard plots from the commission. In addition to them, it would also consider Nasla Tower residents and other instances.
The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights voiced concern on June 26 on the displacement of Karachi residents living beside the Gujjar and Orangi nullahs.

Experts predict that 96,000 individuals will be affected by the demolition of 12,000 structures along the nullahs of Karachi. The experts were particularly troubled by the Supreme Court’s rejection of stay orders issued by the Anti-Encroachment Tribunal, which had halted the demolition of multiple properties.
