President Dr. Arif Alvi emphasized the need of expanding and diversifying trade and economic ties between Pakistan and Brunei Darussalam for the benefit of both countries in Islamabad.

Speaking with Brigadier General (Retired) Mahmud Saidin, the departing High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam, the president noted that relations between Pakistan and Brunei Darussalam were excellent and were firmly based on shared beliefs, religious principles, and aspirations for world peace and stability.
He continued by saying that Pakistan had a robust agriculture industry and that Brunei could profit from Pakistan’s know-how in the field.
Alvi was pleased that Pak-Brunei Investment Company, a joint venture between the Pakistani government and the Brunei Investment Agency, was contributing significantly to the economic development of the nation by offering a wide range of advisory services as well as financial support to viable business projects.
The president also commended the departing high commissioner’s efforts to promote economic connections and deepen bilateral ties between the two friendly nations.
