Australian Company Unveils a Flying Race Car
Airspeeder Mk4, a vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) race car, has been developed by Alauda Aeronautics, an Australian startup.
The company claims that the vehicle can attain a top speed of 360 kilometers per hour from a stationary position in just 30 seconds. While the previous iteration, Mk3, was remotely operated, Airspeeder Mk4 is intended to be piloted by a driver or pilot.
The vehicle is powered by a “Thunderstrike Hydrogen Turbogenerator” that generates electricity for the batteries and motors using hydrogen fuel. The generator has a maximum output of 1,340 horsepower and can travel over 300 kilometers on a single charge.

Alauda states that the Mk4 is flown using a flight controller that autonomously regulates four rotor pairs in a gimbaled thrust system. The vehicle is less similar to a multi-copter and more similar to a jet fighter or F1 car in terms of handling.
Matt Pearson, CEO of Alauda Aeronautics, predicts that the eVTOL industry is already worth trillions of dollars, and he anticipates a significant market for personal flying cars in the coming years. Pearson believes that once the production costs of VOTL cars are reduced, they will become prevalent commercial vehicles.

He stated that as soon as the cost of a flying car is comparable to that of a Tesla, it will revolutionize the transportation industry. Pearson also noted that since private cars outnumber taxis by approximately 300 to one, the possibility of individuals owning and driving their own flying cars is immense, making it an exciting time for the industry.
