The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced plans to rehabilitate and resurface four of Islamabad’s busiest roads as part of an initiative to improve road conditions, traffic flow, and commuter safety across the capital.

The project will cover Srinagar Highway, Jinnah Avenue, Murree Road, and the Islamabad Expressway, all of which carry heavy daily traffic and serve as key transportation corridors for residents and commuters.

According to the CDA, the rehabilitation work will focus on repairing damaged road surfaces and laying new asphalt to improve driving conditions, reduce vehicle wear and tear, and facilitate smoother traffic movement. The authority expects the project to ease congestion and shorten travel times on some of Islamabad’s most heavily used routes.

Construction work will begin after the completion of the tendering process and the award of contracts. The CDA has not yet announced an official timeline for the project’s completion.

The announcement follows ongoing infrastructure development in the capital. Last month, authorities confirmed that work on the Rs. 10 billion Park Road project is progressing as planned, with the underpass expected to be completed before the remaining road infrastructure.

The Park Road project includes the construction of an underpass, overhead infrastructure, and service roads aimed at improving connectivity between Park Road, Margalla Avenue, and nearby areas while reducing traffic congestion and improving travel efficiency.
