CDA Approved The Expansion of Islamabad Expressway Project
ISLAMABAD, July 19, 2022- CDA has accepted FWO’s bid for the development of the expressway from PWD to Grand Trunk (G.T.) road.

The CDA board met with the CDA chairman, who also served as meeting chair. During the meeting, several problems were discussed, including the Rs. 11 billion bid submitted by the FWO for the extension of the Sohan Bridge and the expressway from its current two to four lanes.

Most of the board members, according to sources, attended the meeting online. Amer Ali Ahmed, the CDA Chairman, presided over a meeting of the CDA board where topics like the planned proposal of Rs. 11 billion by FWO were discussed. The proposed plan would add 7 kilometers to the current Islamabad Highway.

In addition to the Sohan Bridge extension, the two existing lanes will be increased to four lanes. A time frame of 18 months has been allocated for the construction to be finished, and the civic body has been given permission to begin the expansion project.
