ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has begun issuing allotment letters to affectees of Sector E-12 as part of efforts to resolve longstanding compensation claims and facilitate the authority’s possession and development of the sector.
The CDA recently distributed 15 allotment letters to affected landowners, marking a step toward addressing pending cases involving acquired land and built-up property.

E-12 Development Faces Long-Standing Delays
The CDA launched Sector E-12 in 1989, but development in the sector has remained incomplete for decades. Delays in resolving compensation claims of landowners whose properties were acquired by the authority have been among the issues affecting progress.
The authority has completed development work across substantial portions of three sub-sectors, while Sub-Sector 4 still requires additional development.
The CDA had previously initiated efforts to take possession of remaining land. However, some local landowners resisted the move while seeking resolution of their outstanding compensation claims. According to officials, areas where compensation has already been paid have subsequently been cleared for possession.
15 Allotment Letters Issued
CDA Deputy Commissioner Abdul Rauf Khan, Director Enforcement Chaudhry Kamran Bakhat and Deputy Director Riaz Khan visited the area and handed over 15 allotment letters to affectees.
Officials assured the affected landowners that the remaining legitimate cases would be processed and allotment letters issued as the relevant claims are resolved.
Around 146 allotment letters against built-up property (BuP) are reportedly still pending. Following discussions involving the CDA chairman and Member Estate, officials agreed to expedite cases that meet the applicable requirements.

Committee Formed to Address Land Issues
A committee has also been established within the Land Directorate to examine and address outstanding land-related issues involving local residents.
The CDA continues to face compensation-related matters in other sectors, including E-13, D-13, F-13, C-13, C-15 and C-16.
Resolving genuine compensation claims remains important for enabling the authority to obtain possession of acquired land and proceed with development. The latest allotment process represents part of the CDA’s ongoing efforts to address these longstanding cases in Sector E-12.
