CDA Shares Accomplishment Timelines for PWD Underpass
Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) said in a meeting that the under-construction PWD Underpass will be finished in June and the Korang Bridge in October.

According to Roads Director Tahir Mahmoud, the PWD Underpass was supposed to be built in April but owing to unanticipated delays, the bridge won’t be open to traffic until after June 30. The Korang Bridge will now be finished before its deadline even though it was supposed to be finished in December.
Additionally, the director noted, the PWD Underpass’ eastern loop would be in use before construction on the tunnels begins. The director issued a firm warning, announcing that the contractors will face punishment in the event of future delays.

The director also provided information about the development of the Korang Bridge expansion project. The project is progressing as planned, and once the services transition is complete, the pace will pick up.
The progress will be seen after the technical issues have been resolved. 24 piles have been constructed, and 18 girders have already been erected.
The project will now be finished in a year, contrary to the director’s earlier assumption that it would take two years.
