Chaman, Quetta, Karachi-Highway Dualization to Initiate Soon
A Balochistan administration official announced on Wednesday that the dualization of the 796-kilometer Chaman-Quetta-Karachi Highway will commence the next month in order to provide the best communication facilities.

As a result of the efforts of the Balochistan administration, the federal government has allocated Rs 81,582 billion in the first phase for the construction of the Kuchlak to Khuzdar segment of the Quetta-Karachi highway in the current fiscal year.
He stated that the bid for the second segment of the two-lane highway has already been issued, while the other two segments of the major highway are still in the feasibility phase.
The project comprises the construction of a new carriageway and the transformation of the existing road into a four-lane divided carriageway. The national highway between Quetta and Karachi would be constructed through a public-private partnership.

He emphasized that improved roadways were required to prevent traffic accidents and save lives. The completion of the highway project, he continued, will satisfy the people’s long-held desires.
He noted that the construction of new roads and the extension of existing highways would not only pave the path for socioeconomic growth in remote Balochistan districts, but would also boost the economy of the entire region.
The provincial administration is partnering with the federal government to provide modern transportation alternatives to province-wide residents.
