Committee Formed to Address Faisalabad Master Plan Concerns
Faisalabad: According to news reports, the Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) has constituted a five-member committee to tackle issues delaying the adoption of the Faisalabad Master Plan.

Following a meeting with the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) and developers of private housing plans in Circuit House, the authority made the decision. The private firm working on the master plan briefed the attendees about it.
Faisalabad Master Plan 2035 was designed by the FDA to accommodate the city’s expanding population and urban migration. Concerns were raised by FCCI members and representatives of private housing schemes regarding converting “Brown Areas” into “Green Zones” to increase vertical construction.

Participants were also concerned about the conversion of peri-urban planning without prior notice or consultation with stakeholders.
Members of the FCCI also met with Shahbaz Gill, the adviser to the prime minister, to request the premier’s aid in approving the master plan. In response, they were informed that a meeting with the prime minister to discuss the situation would be scheduled.
