Decrease in Simly Dam Level, CDA to Ensure Water Supply
Islamabad: The level in Simly Dam has drastically reduced as a result of the recent decrease in rainfall and ongoing water consumption.
Nonetheless, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) declared on Sunday that it would guarantee uninterrupted water service to households during Ramadan and pleaded with them not to squander water.

There was no need to fear, according to the CDA, as the civic agency had enough water in reserve to last until July 15 and that day, monsoon rain would have filled the dam once more.
The dam’s current water level is 2271 feet, which is below its 2315-foot capacity. Together with the Khanpur Dam and tube wells, the Simly Dam is one of Islamabad’s primary water supplies.

In Islamabad, residents have access to up to 70 mgd of water per day despite a 220 mgd overall demand. With the exception of the two mgd that was recently added from Rawal Dam to the system of CDA’s water supply, no new source was investigated over the previous few decades.
If a citizen receives a fine a second time, CDA will terminate their connections, and their residences will also be sealed.
