A post reportedly showing an AI-generated image of U.S. President Donald Trump depicted as Jesus Christ sparked widespread backlash online, after which the image was deleted, according to reports.
The image, which circulated on social media platform X, showed Trump in a stylized biblical scene resembling traditional religious artwork. It quickly drew criticism from many users, who argued that it was inappropriate and made use of sacred religious symbolism for political messaging and self-promotion. Supporters of the MAGA movement, however, defended the post and dismissed the criticism as exaggerated.
Following the controversy, the post was removed. Trump later addressed the issue, saying the image had been intended humorously and acknowledging that sharing it was a mistake.
