Easypaisa Services Face Temporary Disruption Across Pakistan

Thousands of Easypaisa users across Pakistan are experiencing difficulties accessing their accounts due to an ongoing service disruption affecting parts of the mobile financial platform, according to affected customers.

Users reported being unable to log in to their accounts despite entering correct PINs. While some retailer and vendor accounts reportedly remain accessible, many regular customer accounts are currently inaccessible.

Several users also complained that biometric verification services, including fingerprint authentication, are not functioning properly.

Company acknowledges intermittent outage

In an official statement, Easypaisa confirmed the disruption, stating that some users are facing intermittent service issues.

“We are currently experiencing intermittent service disruptions affecting some users. Our teams are actively working to resolve the issue and restore services as quickly as possible,” the company said.

Transactions affected, cause not disclosed

The disruption has impacted users attempting to perform transactions through the Easypaisa mobile application. However, the exact cause of the outage has not yet been disclosed, and no timeline has been given for full restoration of services.

The company said its technical teams are actively working to resolve the issue and restore normal functionality.

Background developments

Earlier reports also suggested that Norway’s Telenor ASA is considering selling its controlling stake in Easypaisa Bank, a move that could potentially lead to its complete exit from Pakistan after more than two decades of operations in the country.

Further updates are expected as services are restored and more information becomes available.
