ECC Approves Kamyab Pakistan Program
The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the government has approved a number of major summaries, including the Kamyab Pakistan Scheme (KPP) summary, which is regarded as the most ambitious microcredit program ever conceived in Pakistan.

The Finance Division provided the ECC with an updated summary of KPP. Kamyab Karobar, Kamyab Kissan, Naya Pakistan Low-Cost Housing, Kamyab Hunarmand, and Sehatmand Pakistan are the five components of the KPP.
The Committee was informed that, under the first three components, micro-loans will be distributed to eligible borrowers registered with Ehsaas Data via the National Socio-Economic Registry (NSER) who have a monthly family income of up to Rs. 50,000.
Nonetheless, the final two KPP components will be incorporated into the existing projects. The KPP is intended to connect with the government’s current skill development initiative to provide academic and vocational training.

The ECC reviewed and approved the information the Ministry of National Food Security and Research provided regarding WFP’s acquisition of 40,000 MT of wheat from PASSCO.
The Ministry of Energy provided a summary of financial assistance for power producing enterprises (GENCOs). The ECC authorized a Technical Supplementary Grant of 500 million rupees out of the overall budget given to the Power Division.
In addition, the ECC evaluated and approved the Power Division’s description of the 2002 policy addressing 40% of the total amount owed to IPPs.
