Etihad Rail Track is Fully Operational Now
Last month, it was confirmed that Etihad Rail’s UAE track is operational for freight services, and a Twitter post announced that their cutting-edge fleet could efficiently transport any type of cargo across the UAE.

However, passenger train services have not been announced yet. The network extends across the country, from the border of Saudi Arabia to the border of Oman, covering a distance of 1,200 km.
The passenger train service will connect 11 cities and regions across the UAE, starting from Al Sila to Fujairah, including Al Ruwais, Al Mirfa, Dubai, Sharjah, Al Dhaid, and Abu Dhabi.

This service aims to reduce the number of commuters who use cars between the Emirates by 30 to 40 percent. Furthermore, Etihad will connect Sohar in Oman to Abu Dhabi in the UAE via Sohar Port to the UAE National Rail Network, and the travel time is expected to be 1 hour 40 minutes between Abu Dhabi and Sohar and just 47 minutes between Al Ain and Sohar.
