Federal Board Suddenly Changes Pass Percentage for Matric and Intermediate
ISLAMABAD, January 30, 2023- The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) has unexpectedly revealed a rise in the pass percentage.
The pass rate for Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) exams has risen from 33% to 40%, as per the official statement.
In a related move, FBISE opted to provide separate practical exams at both the SSC and HSSC levels rather than a single composite exam. The Federal Board announced on Twitter that the practical examinations for classes 9, 10, 11, and 12 will be held independently. The decision will take effect beginning with the 2024 annual exams.

FBISE and EduCareer, a platform for education and career advice, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch EduCareer in Malaysia.
According to the initiative’s specifics, it aims to assist Pakistani and international students with FBISE/Pakistani credentials. The Federal Board intends to gradually introduce EduCareer in other nations.
