RAWALPINDI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has scheduled the auction of a large property in Bahria Golf City, Rawalpindi, as part of its efforts to recover outstanding tax liabilities of around Rs. 26.4 billion.

According to the auction notice issued by the FBR’s Large Taxpayers Office (LTO), Islamabad, the property covers 32 kanals and 11 marlas. It also includes a constructed house and other built-up areas.

The property is located at Plot No. 1, Street No. R2A, Bahria Golf City, Mauza Salkhater, Tehsil and District Rawalpindi. The auction has been scheduled for October 6, 2026.

The FBR said the proceedings are being conducted under the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001, and Income Tax Rules, 2002. The sale forms part of the tax recovery process involving outstanding liabilities.

Under the applicable income tax recovery framework, attached immovable property may be sold through a prescribed auction process. Such proceedings remain subject to the required legal procedures and approvals.

The latest action follows earlier recovery measures involving properties associated with Bahria Town. The FBR had also pursued a 527-kanal and 10-marla property in Murree. That property went through multiple auction proceedings before its reported sale in July 2026.

The tax authority has also previously auctioned a Bahria Town property on Park Road, Islamabad. The earlier proceedings reportedly generated around Rs. 2.05 billion.

The October auction should be distinguished from separate proceedings involving the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). NAB has pursued certain Bahria Town-related properties under a different recovery process linked to a plea bargain.

The FBR’s latest action is specifically related to tax recovery. The outcome of the October 6 auction will depend on the bidding process and completion of the applicable legal requirements.
