Federal Cabinet Discusses Tax Reforms and Ramadan Package
The federal cabinet met in Islamabad under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Imran Khan, the prime minister, told the cabinet that keeping track of taxpayers requires a track-and-trace mechanism.
According to the FBR, 30 million tonnes of fertiliser, 45 million tonnes of cement, over four billion tobacco sticks, and four million tonnes of sugar would all be subject to taxes.

The Ramadan Relief Package, worth Rs. 7.8 billion on 19 necessities, has been authorised by the Federal Cabinet. It will be distributed through Pakistan’s network of Utility Stores to help the public throughout Ramadan.
In order to address the needs of the farmers, two small private urea facilities will begin operating this month, according to Hammad Azhar.
