FWO, CDA to Carry Out Survey of Margalla Road
Islamabad: Prior to beginning construction, the Margalla Road was surveyed jointly by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Frontier Works Organization (FWO).

The FWO recently transferred its equipment to the project site close to Sangjani, but formal construction could not yet begin since both the CDA and the FWO are conducting a joint survey, which should be finished in a week.
The joint survey, which will be finished in 10 days, is being carried out by employees from the engineering wing, the land survey department, and the FWO’s teams, according to CDA authorities.
The CDA has made the decision to broaden the project’s scope, therefore the Margalla Road would now be built without going through Bhara Kahu, from G.T. Road Sangjani up to Satra Meel Murree Road.
The Islamabad master plan included the 35-km-long Margalla Road. It begins at G.T. Road in the vicinity of Sangjani and ends at Bhara Kahu.

According to sources in the CDA, a prior contractor had already completed earthwork on six of the 10-km-long road’s northern side near Sangjani, and the FWO would begin formal construction work in this section in a few days after finishing the joint survey.
