Government Now Focuses on Development of SEZ Under CPEC Phase-II
Lahore: According to our sources, Board of Investment (BoI) Chairman and State Minister Muhammad Azfar Ahsan indicated on December 21 that the development of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Phase-II is the government’s top priority.

At the CPEC Industrial Cooperation B2B Investment Conference, the BoI chairman noted that nine out of three SEZs are undergoing development. These projects include the Dhabeji Special Economic Zone in Sindh, the Rashakai Special Economic Zone in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and the Allama Iqbal Industrial City SEZ in Punjab.
In addition, the chairman claimed that financial incentives were provided to SEZ-based companies and developers. These included exemptions on the importation of capital items and a customs duty-free term of ten years.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister Khalid Mansoor announced that the government will prioritize four SEZs.
