Govt Pursuing Vision to Double Farmers’ Income to Check Poverty
Bahawalpur: Prime Minister Imran Khan stated that the current government has an ambition to double their income in order to achieve faster economic growth, guarantee food security, and combat poverty and inflation.

The prime minister boasted that due to the government’s policy of increasing support prices for a variety of agricultural crops, including wheat, sugar cane, and maize, growers earned an additional Rs 1,100 billion during the preceding fiscal years.
In addition, he stated that after spending the first two years on economic stabilization due to various inherited economic challenges, his government had finally put the country on the road to economic recovery and achieved around 4% Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth during the 2020-21 fiscal year (FY21).

During the convention, the prime minister also launched the provincial government’s Kisan Card program, which was also addressed by the chief minister of Punjab and the special assistant to the prime minister for national food security.
