Government Set Up Economic Zones, Small Industrial Estates
Peshawar: According to news reports, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government agreed to establish 10 economic zones, 19 minor industrial estates, and two special economic zones over the course of the next ten years.

The meeting also approved the creation of a 15-member oversight and implementation committee as well as the action plan to implement Industrial Policy 2020. According to rumours, Abdul Karim, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Industries, will serve as the committee’s chair and oversee the implementation of industrial policies.
The initiatives taken under the new programme, according to reports, are meant to revive the province’s struggling industry. Also, it was announced that utilities will be continuously delivered to the industrial units.
Also, it has been stated that industry-specific economic zones will be developed in a number of the province’s districts. In addition, the development of infrastructure, effective waste management, and building of approach roads to industrial units are all part of the new industrial policy.

Rashakai Special Economic Zone (SEZ), Nowshera Economic Zone, Jalozai Economic Zone, Dera Ismail Khan Economic Zone, and Mohmand Economic Zone (Marble City) are only a few of the previously formed economic zones.
