Government Trying to Include Dera Road Project in CPEC
Peshawar: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan was informed that the Peshawar-Dera Ismail Khan Motorway project would be included in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project at the upcoming Joint Coordination Committee meeting.

According to a release, the provincial chief minister presided over a high-level conference to examine the status of mega-road projects in the province.
The conference was informed that the Central Development Working Party had already authorized PC-I of the Peshawar-I Khan Motorway project (CDWP).
It was disclosed that the economic and financial viability of the project had been certified for public-private partnership implementation if it was not included in the CPEC project.
The committee was briefed on the current status of the proposed 365-kilometer Peshawar-DI Khan Motorway and 30-kilometer Dir Motorway construction projects.

Regarding the Dir Motorway project, the meeting was informed that PC-I of the scheme had also been approved by CDWP, and that work on the financial and commercial feasibility of its execution through public-private partnership was also underway.
On this occasion, the chief minister instructed the relevant departments to ensure project progress within the specified timeframes.
