Housing Scheme’s Plea for Revised Plan Turned Down
MULTAN: Commissioner Javed Akhtar Mahmood denied the Citi Housing Scheme’s request to change the city’s integrated master plan, claiming that the provincial government, not the commissioner, is the proper party to appoint a committee to do so.

According to the commissioner’s order, the scheme’s attorneys contended that because the plan was for the years 2008 to 28, it needed to be amended after five years.
According to the council, on January 8 the commissioner established a commission for the plan’s amendment, and on September 4, 2020, the Lahore High Court issued orders requiring that 3,000 kanal (in the agricultural zone) be amended as part of the review of the plan.

The MDA representative further claimed that preliminary planning approval for the new site provided by the petitioner was turned down on Aug 26, 2020, as the proposed location was an orchard/agriculture zone and fell beyond the peri-urban zone of the master plan.
