The CDA board has approved the creation of the Building and Housing Control Wing in addition to the football stadium. The board has mandated rainwater harvesting for all residential and commercial structures in Islamabad as part of this plan, and before their building maps can be approved, they must contain water recharging wells and tanks. With this action, the region’s water scarcity problem will be addressed and sustainable water management techniques will be promoted.
The creation of the Building Control Wing is anticipated to be crucial in preventing unauthorized building projects and upholding the city’s building codes. The responsibility of verifying adherence to construction requirements will fall to a total of 50 field teams, each consisting of one assistant director and two surveyors. This should speed up the building process and guarantee that all structures in Islamabad are built in conformity with approved blueprints and rules.

The Sanitation Directorate and Environment Wing are also given the power by the CDA board to issue penalties and fines for infractions. The board has given the CDA Chairman the power to set fees, which is anticipated to make it easier for the city to enforce environmental and sanitary laws.
The CDA board also authorized changes to the ICT Building Control By-Laws Regulation 2002 in addition to these measures. To meet the expanding needs of the metropolis, the floor area ratios for various sectors and zones in Islamabad have been altered. For instance, the floor area ratio for institutional buildings in the H series sector has been adjusted, and the Move area to floor area ratio has increased from 3,000 yards to 15,000 yards. To assist the growth of the city’s educational infrastructure, the floor area ratio of educational plots in Zones 2, 4, and 5 of Islamabad has also been raised.
