K-Electric has announced that loadshedding will remain suspended in designated areas of Karachi during Ashura, observed on June 25 and 26, 2026, to facilitate religious processions, majalis, and other gatherings across the city.

According to the utility, 371 feeders have been categorized as high priority for the occasion. These include 244 medium- and high-loss feeders that are normally subject to scheduled loadshedding.

K-Electric stated that the identified feeders will remain exempt from loadshedding from the evening of 8th Muharram until the morning of 11th Muharram to ensure uninterrupted power supply during Ashura-related activities.

The company said it has coordinated extensively with relevant authorities and stakeholders to maintain electricity supply along procession routes and at major congregation points throughout the city.

To manage any unforeseen issues, K-Electric’s operational teams will remain on high alert during the period, with additional technical resources deployed to respond quickly to faults and emergencies.

In a separate relief measure, the utility has also extended electricity bill payment deadlines falling on the Ashura holidays. Customers with bills due on June 25 and 26 can now make payments until June 29, 2026, without incurring any late payment surcharge.

K-Electric confirmed that all scheduled banks and authorized payment collection centers have been informed of the revised payment schedule.
