KP Earns Estimated Rs 4bn Tourism Revenue During Eid Holidays
Peshawar: During the Eid-ul-Azha holidays, millions of visitors from across the nation flocked to Malakand and Hazara Divisions, creating a whopping 4 billion rupees in revenue.
For the first time ever, Kalam and Bahrain experienced such a high tourist influx that local hotels were unable to accommodate everyone, forcing thousands of visitors to remain in tents and in people’s homes and rooms.

Millions of tourists came to KP instead of other tourist sites because of the limits imposed by Covid-19, according to Latif-ur-Rehman, a spokesman for the KP Tourism Department.
During the Eid holidays alone, more than 550,000 tourist vehicles were recorded in the Malakand Division alone, Latif claims. In addition, more than 200,000 vehicles and more than 1 million tourists entered Galiyat, and more than 1.2 million tourists travelled through Kaghan in 300,000 vehicles between July 17 and July 24.

He urged the tourism department to look for additional locations in order to lessen the strain on the Hazara and Malakand divisions’ sites, to improve communication problems in order to increase tourist arrivals in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and to also offer locals from remote areas employment opportunities.
