KP Government to Borrow Rs 99 Billion From ADB
Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has decided to get a loan for the local government department from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for Rs 99 billion.

The loan will be the biggest loan the province has ever taken out, and it will be used to improve living conditions in five major cities, including Swat, Peshawar, Mardan, Abbottabad, and Kohat.
Details show that the ADB has proposed a huge project to give the chosen cities clean drinking water, sanitation services, and other basic amenities. According to the agreement, the regional development bank will give Rs 93.118bn in stages over the next five years.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cities Improvement Project is the name of the project. The plan calls for clean drinking water, better drainage, water treatment plants that can reuse drainage water, the creation of dump sites where trash can be thrown away, and the building of public parks.

The report said that Rs3.447 billion will be spent to set up a project management unit, which will be finished in five years with the help of water and sanitation services companies and Tehsil Municipal Administrations (TMAs).
