KPK Plans to Start Billion-dollar Dried Fruit Initiative
After launching the Billion Tree Tsunami and Honey Projects, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has decided to launch the Billion Dry Fruits Project. As part of the initiative, saplings will be planted to increase the yield of dried fruits. According to directives given to the agriculture department, the Billion Dry Fruits Project must commence as soon as possible.
Governor of KP Shah Farman would be in charge of the project. Shah Farman emphasized the significance of the project by asserting that it will lead to a significant revolution and enhance the income of tribal district residents in the province.
Last year, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan initiated the Billion Tree Tsunami Honey Project. One million hectares of Pakistani forests would be used to generate seven various types of honey as part of the scheme.

In contrast, honey production would increase from 12,000 to 75,000 metric tonnes. Pakistan would be able to export honey worth Rs 45 billion annually to a variety of countries.
Prior to this, the Billion Tree Tsunami effort of Prime Minister Imran Khan was lauded by environmental groups worldwide, which referred to his activities as “standard” for other world leaders.
