LDA Directed to Establish Tram Project on Canal Road by CM
Mr. Usman Buzdar, chief minister of Punjab, directed the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on Tuesday to complete the feasibility study for the electric tram project on Canal Road (January 11).

According to news reports, Mr. Buzdar prioritized the completion of the project’s design so that construction might commence sooner. He also emphasized that the initiative is essential for Lahore’s development. The proposal will minimize traffic congestion on Canal Road because the tram would be the first electric-powered tram system in Pakistan. Every effort must be made to meet the deadline.

It was said that the development of the project will commence shortly. At the meeting were also Mr. Ahmad Aziz Tarar, Director General (DG) of the LDA, Mr. Naeem-ul-Haq, Vice Chairman (VC) of the LDA, and the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister.
