LDA Proposes Two New Mega-projects for Walton Road
Lahore Improvement Authority (LDA) Director General (DG) Ahmad Aziz Tarar has given to Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar a summary of two road infrastructure development projects on Walton Road, according to news sources.

The PKR 2.8 billion project entails the building of a dual-lane, two-way underpass at Khalid Butt Chowk and a flyover at Ghora Chowk.
According to the specifications, a dual road underpass will be constructed on Khalid Butt Chowk, and a single two-lane flyover will be constructed from Ghora Chowk to Walton Road. The project will transform Walton Road into a signal-free corridor to facilitate traffic flow. Beginning at Central Point Gulberg, the 5-kilometer-long corridor will remain signal-free.

In addition, the Defence Mor and Walton road will be recarpeted and renovated. The entire construction and infrastructure development project will be completed in ten months.
In this regard, LDA has requested the release of monies from the current fiscal year’s budget. The LDA has abandoned the proposal for protected U-turns at Khalid Majid Chowk Cavalry Ground and Defence Mor.
