Leh Expressway’s Inauguration in 2 Months: RWP Commissioner
According to Rawalpindi Commissioner Gulzar Hussain Shah and media sources, Prime Minister Imran Khan will officially launch the Leh Expressway Project on December 25.
According to the available information, Commissioner Shah made this announcement after presiding over a meeting in which he urged the participants to resolve their disagreements and work to eliminate impediments and bottlenecks discovered during the implementation and design of the project.
According to a similar source, Bahria Town has promised to assist the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) in initiating signal-free development of the 18-kilometer Leh Expressway. Details suggest that the Leh Expressway will connect Ammar Shaheed Chowk in Rawalpindi to the Islamabad Expressway via IJP Principal Road.

In addition, it was announced that the RDA had submitted Bahria Town’s request to the Public-Private Partnership Authority (PPPA). Under this idea, the commercial construction of the project will be managed by the real estate firm Bahria Town at a cost of PKR 83 billion.
The Punjab government will only pay the PKR 15 billion cost of land acquisition, as stated.
