Motorola has launched the Moto G87 as the newest member of its G-series lineup and the successor to the Moto G77. The device introduces a more refined display, upgraded cameras, improved durability, and ships with Android 16 pre-installed.
Notably, it is the first Moto G series phone to feature a 200MP high-resolution main camera.
Design and Display
The Moto G87 comes with a 6.78-inch Extreme AMOLED display offering a 1272 × 2772 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Motorola claims the panel delivers 17% higher resolution than standard Full HD screens and can reach up to 5,000 nits peak brightness. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.
For durability, the phone includes IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, along with MIL-STD-810H certification. It is also designed to withstand drops of up to 1.2 meters. The handset measures 164.58 × 77.37 × 7.38 mm and weighs 183 grams, and comes in Pantone Overture Gray and Pantone Blue Atoll color options.

Performance and Software
Under the hood, the Moto G87 is powered by the 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset, featuring a combination of Cortex-A76 and Cortex-A55 cores alongside a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU.
It is available in 4GB and 8GB LPDDR4x RAM variants, with 128GB or 256GB UFS 2.2 storage, expandable via microSD up to 2TB. Motorola’s RAM Boost feature can virtually extend memory up to 24GB. The device runs on Android 16 out of the box.
Motorola also claims the speakers are up to 280% louder compared to the previous generation.
Cameras
The highlight of the Moto G87 is its camera system, led by a 200MP primary sensor with optical image stabilization and Ultra Pixel technology. Motorola says it improves light sensitivity by up to 16 times for better low-light photography and supports 2x lossless zoom.
It is paired with an 8MP ultra-wide lens. On the front, the phone features a 32MP selfie camera.
Camera features include Auto Smile Capture, multiple portrait focal lengths (24mm, 35mm, and 50mm), and Google Photos tools such as Magic Eraser, Photo Unblur, Reimagine, and Auto Frame.
Battery and Price
The device is equipped with a 5,200mAh battery supporting 30W TurboPower fast charging.
Pricing for the Moto G87 starts at approximately $466.
