Russian nationals applying for Pakistani visas will now be required to complete sponsor biometric verification through the PakID application, according to a statement issued by the Embassy of Pakistan in Russia.
The embassy said visa applications submitted without verified sponsor biometrics will not be processed and urged applicants to comply with the updated requirements to avoid delays.
According to the announcement, Russian citizens can apply for tourist visas for Pakistan only through the Ministry of Interior’s online visa portal. Applicants must submit a valid passport and a recent photograph as part of the application process.
The tourist visa will be issued for a period of 90 days and will allow multiple entries. However, the embassy clarified that visa issuance remains entirely at the discretion of the Government of Pakistan.
Applicants have also been advised to submit their travel intent at least 24 hours before departure to obtain a Visa Grant Notice in time.
The embassy further reminded travelers that holders of a Visa Prior to Arrival are not permitted to enter or exit Pakistan through the Chaman and Torkham land border crossings.
Officials directed all applicants to strictly follow the updated procedures, including sponsor biometric verification via the PakID application, to ensure smooth processing of visa requests and avoid unnecessary delays.
