NOC-issue Process Made Simpler for Private Housing Schemes
Lahore: To make the clearance process for private housing plans more convenient for the developers, the Punjab Local Government Department has sent new guidelines to the Law Department, according to a news source. The agency has suggested modifying the current regulations, which went into effect in 2010.

By eliminating the prerequisites for preliminary planning clearance, the modification to these guidelines will speed up the approval process for private housing plans. According to the planned agreements, the developer will provide the Local Government Department with proof of land ownership and all relevant documentation in order to get a No-Objection Certificate (NOC).
Another development involves the federal government’s decision to stop funding private housing projects with gas hookups. The details indicate that the choice was taken because of depleting natural gas reserves and the high price of imported liquid natural gas (LNG).

After the implementation of this policy, LNG connections rather than Sui Gas will be issued for new connections in private housing schemes.
Owners of freshly constructed homes in private housing developments are reportedly now receiving LGN connections from Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd (SNGPL). Also, according to sources, those who have LNG connections will need to make weekly bill payments.
