NTDC Concludes Four More 500kV Transmission Lines
The National Transmission & Dispatch Company Ltd (NTDC) in Lahore has finished building four more 500kV transmission lines to transport electricity from power facilities in the country’s southern regions.

A vital part of the massive Matiari-Lahore Transmission Line Project, sponsored by CPEC, is the connection of the transmission line circuits to the HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) converter station at Matiari.
The 500kV NTDC network at Matiari Converter Station will be strengthened even more by the finished transmission lines. Also, starting on May 1, 2021, this will aid in and facilitate high power testing (2200MW) on the 660 kV HVDC Matiari-Lahore transmission line.

An NTDC spokesman said that eight of the 10 circuits/transmission lines that were planned by NTDC for the evacuation of electricity from Sindh-based power plants have been finished and turned on.
The remaining two transmission line circuits, however, will be finished later.
During Sehr, Iftar, and Taraweeh times, the NTDC has established a Central Control Center at the 220 kV grid station in New Kot Lakhpat to monitor the stability of the Electricity System and maintain close contact with the National Power Control Center and all Distribution Companies.
