Pakistan Eyes USD 5 billion Targets for IT-Related Export
Recently, a news outlet claimed that Minister of Information Technology and Telecommunications (IT&T) Aminul Haque of Islamabad stated that serious steps are being done to expand IT-related exports in accordance with Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision.

After achieving a record USD 2.1 billion export objective, the minister expressed optimism that the USD 5 billion target will also be met. Haque stated that the ministry’s corporation is essential for attracting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) into the nation’s IT industry in order to reach the USD 5 billion goal.
“In order to accomplish the goal, the government launched 25 IT-related initiatives worth PKR 31 billion in distant areas of the country during the previous fiscal year, with the total number of projects reaching 30 in the current fiscal year,” Haque added.

Pakistan’s Ministry of Finance recently announced a PKR 10 billion package to enhance IT and ITeS.
