PDWP Favors 9 Uplift Schemes for Punjab
According to news reports, the Punjab Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) approved nine development initiatives during its meeting for the current fiscal year (FY 2021-22), which was presided over by Planning & Development (P&D) Board Chairman Abdullah Khan Sumbal.

The authorized uplift plans for Punjab are anticipated to cost a total of 6.75 billion Pakistani rupees (PKR). They aim to improve a variety of sectors. The following are the specifics of these new projects in Punjab:
- Natural History Museum-Lahore (PC-II) establishment at the cost of PKR 17 million
- The cost of establishing a new small industrial estate in Gujrat is PKR 1.32 billion.
- At the cost of PKR 950 million, the metal road from Kotla Musa Khan to Kachi Mor and the flyover at Ahmedpur East, District Bahawalpur, would be widened and carpeted.
- Government General Hospital in Faisalabad’s Samanabad neighborhood will be upgraded at the cost of PKR 897.186 million.
- Modernization of DHQ Hospital Bhakkar at the cost of PKR 799,996,000
- The revised phase II of the Taleem Sab Kay Liay Project will cost PKR 825,774,000.
- Punjab approves $3 billion worth of development projects
- Enhancing “technical capabilities, coherence, coordination, and monitoring for sustainable development following COVID-19” P&D Board at the cost of 650 million Pakistani Rupees
- Protection of Irrigation Infrastructure and Abadis between RD: 206-224 of the Minchin Flood Bund close to Ahmad Kuddan at the cost of PKR 1,244 billion
- Also accepted was the review of feasibility studies and design for drainage projects in the specified area of an irrigation zone in Bahawalpur (PC-II) at the cost of PKR 40,862,000.
