Peshawar Division Commissioner Khalid Mahmood has directed the relevant authorities to accelerate construction on major flyovers and underpasses along Ring Road and ensure that the projects are completed within their scheduled deadlines.
The commissioner issued the instructions while chairing a meeting to review progress on ongoing development projects. The meeting covered the Jamil Chowk Underpass, Hazara Khwani Flyover, Pishtakhara Chowk Underpass and the underpass near the Hayatabad Ring Road Toll Plaza.
The meeting was attended by the Peshawar deputy commissioner, Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) director general, PDA chief engineer, director roads and other administrative and technical officials.
During the meeting, Mahmood directed the concerned departments to promptly address obstacles delaying construction work. He also emphasized better coordination among departments and called for a joint strategy to ensure that all projects remain on schedule.
According to the commissioner, completion of these infrastructure projects will help make Ring Road fully signal-free, improve traffic flow and provide commuters with smoother and more convenient travel.
Mahmood also instructed officials to speed up construction on the remaining sections of the Northern Bypass, particularly the flyovers planned at Warsak Road and Charsadda Road.
He stressed that timely completion of these projects is essential to reducing traffic congestion and improving daily commuting conditions for residents of Peshawar.
The latest directives reflect the administration’s efforts to accelerate road infrastructure development across the city. Once completed, the flyovers and underpasses are expected to improve connectivity, ease congestion at busy intersections and make travel more efficient for motorists.
