PITB and NHMP to Create Database of Driver Licenses, Punjab
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Punjab Information Technology (PITB) and the National Highways & Motorway Police (NHMP) establishes a National Data Repository for all driver licenses issued by state and federal licensing agencies.

In accordance with the MoU, PITB will create a web portal and mobile application to help NHMP identify false, duplicate, canceled, and expired licenses and to help NHMP quickly identify license-related violations. The Point System will also be deployed in order to enhance driving behavior and lower accident and crime rates.
NHMP Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Operations Salman Ali Khan and PITB Director-General IT-Operations (DG IT-Ops) Faisal Yousaf signed the MoU on behalf of their respective companies.

Senior representatives from both organizations, including NHMP Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry and PITB Additional Director General (ADG) Software Engineering Adil Iqbal Khan, were present at the occasion.
