Plastic Roads to Be Built in Islamabad, Other Cities: Minister
Islamabad: Plastic will be used to construct roadways in the federal capital and other places due to the eco-friendly nature of this concept.
On Monday, the Interior Minister, Mr. Sheikh Rashid, remarked during the launching of the first plastic road project. The proposed project aims to pave a 1 kilometer stretch of Ataturk Avenue with plastic-blended bitumen.
The minister thanked Mr. Amer Ali Ahmed, chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), and other partners for coming up with such an unique proposal. Numerous students and eco-friendly individuals attended the inauguration and participated in the procession.
Ten tonnes of plastic bottles were utilized for this project. Coca-Cola, National Incubation Centre, and CDA worked together to introduce the plastic bottles. Several countries have previously created plastic roadways, and it must be stated.

The usage of plastic increases the durability of roadways. The primary purpose of utilizing plastic is environmental protection. A trial was conducted in F9 park, and it was deemed successful. According to the news, daily waste production is 700 tonnes, with 150 tonnes of plastic waste. This will protect the ecosystem.
