PM Alvi Asks Business Communities to Pay Taxes
President Dr. Arif Alvi, speaking to a delegation from the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), has reportedly asked merchants and businesspeople to pay taxes in order to boost the national economy and total income.

President Alvi reportedly also stressed the importance of the business sector to the nation’s economic growth and the role that tax revenue may play in increasing funding for social development.
Alvi said that the government has launched a number of measures for the development of a resilient economy as a result of its commitment to fostering an environment for business that is fair and competitive.

He continued by saying that the federal government had given merchants a financial stimulus package worth PKR 1.2 trillion and was committed to empowering women and people with disabilities by offering financial incentives including loans with a 5% markup.
The delegation asked President Alvi to create an atmosphere that would allow for the efficient operation of enterprises and demanded more tax procedural simplification.
