Punjab Govt to Take Action Against Illegal Residential Societies
Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan reportedly asked the Punjab government to take legal action against illegal housing societies that threaten people’s money and lives by selling flood lands.

The status of the Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) and Central Business District (CBD) projects were discussed during a meeting presided over by PM Khan. Unmanaged and uncontrolled urban sprawl will have a severe effect on food security if green lands are turned into commercial and residential sectors.
In addition, the prime minister noted that the government is taking an environmentally sustainable approach to new constructions that would meet the demands of businesses and residents while preserving green spaces.

According to reports, the PM complimented the CBD team for attaining a revenue record of PKR 57.88 billion during two auctions of commercial land. He went on to explain that the RUDA and CBD projects give Pakistanis living abroad tremendous investment opportunities.
