PM Wishes Promotion of Non-Traditional Goods Export
Islamabad: According to news sources, Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan stated that it is necessary to strengthen and market Pakistan’s non-traditional export items in nations where Pakistani made goods are in great demand. He presided over a meeting to assess Pakistan’s Export Performance.

Officials from the Ministry of Commerce updated the meeting on Pakistan’s traditional and non-traditional export performance during the previous fiscal year (FY 2020-21).
According to the published statistics, the conventional export industry of Pakistan earned USD 3.8 billion, while the non-traditional sector earned USD 2.1 billion. According to the ministry, the current fiscal year would be enhanced by government investments and industry-friendly measures.

In order to increase commerce, the prime minister mandated that export targets be defined for trade attaches at Pakistani embassies around the world.
Pakistan is a major exporter of cotton and cotton-based items, while its non-traditional exports include minerals, gemstones, culinary products, fruits, information technology, and ceramics.
