PR, FWO to Renovate Rail Tracks in Bahawalnagar, Other Cities
Islamabad: According to a report, the Pakistan Railways (PR) and the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) are working together to start development work on various sections of the nation’s train network.
Representatives from the two organisations will sign a contract at the Ministry of Railways on March 19 in order to facilitate this move.

According to an advertising published in national dailies, “This endeavour would not only increase the train speed and cut the journey time, but also promote the national economy.” The aforementioned effort aims to construct the miles-long rail network using contemporary lines.

The rehabilitation programme for the railways department contains three elements. The project will cost more over PKR 10 billion in total.
The cost of the rail tracks is PKR 7.735 billion for the Samasatta-Amruka Section, PKR 2.438 billion for the Dadu-Habibkot Section, and PKR 2.438 billion for the Kundian-Attock City Section (total cost: 2.222 billion).
The rehabilitation of the mentioned railway entails comprehensive track replacement, bridge conversion and repair, and level crossing renovation.
