Project Tossed to Digitally Draw All Punjab Urban Centers
The Punjab Board of Revenue (BoR) has started the “Cadaster of Punjab” initiative to digitally map every urban area in the province, including Lahore. According to a news story that was released, the aforementioned endeavour is valued $150 million USD.

The BoR has started making plans for Lahore’s digital map, which will be created in collaboration with the Survey of Pakistan, according to the information that has been made public.
As part of this effort, the first step will involve plotting out every building in the provincial capital and assigning numbers to each one.

Each building will be given a number as well as information about its area, value, and owner. After the project is finished, the Khasra numbers for immovable properties will be eliminated in Lahore and other urban areas of Punjab.
Meanwhile, the Punjab cabinet has accepted a land reforms measure proposed by BoR, which will make private housing scheme offices public offices and seal these societies’ records. Additionally, legal action would be launched against these housing schemes if they fail to undergo audit on regular basis.
Babar Hayat Tarar, a senior member of the BoR, stated that the Digital Girdawari (regular inspection to prove ownership) programme had already begun in 807 qanungoiyan. He expressed the hope that the digitization of taxation will make the process simpler and more efficient.
