Punjab to Finalize ‘Lahore Smart City Project – Phase I’ by 2024
Lahore: According to news reports, the Punjab government has planned to make Lahore into Pakistan’s first smart city within the next three years. By 2024, it is anticipated that the initial phase of the Lahore Smart City project will be finished.

In this regard, a planning commission and timetable have been established. The local government department and Punjab Information Technology Board would collaborate to carry out the project (PITB).
According to the specifics, Lahore would be developed as a smart city in accordance with globally accepted methods and criteria. Citizens will be able to access all government and municipal services via their mobile devices.

The intelligent apps will also be utilised to regulate the entry and exit of the city. Under Smart City, fees for travelling to Lahore’s Central Areas will be enforced and monitored, as will entrance hours for Central City.
