Punjab to Get “Technology Pura” Special Economic Zone
According to news sources, the Punjab government has planned to create a technology park in Lahore in order to advance the province’s information technology (IT) industry. The effort is titled “Technology Pura” and will be funded with $25 million.

According to insiders, the aforementioned endeavor will be modeled like Silicon Valley in California. In this sense, laws and regulations will be streamlined to maximize the initiative’s benefits for youth, entrepreneurs, and businesses. The provincial government has given funds for the plan, and consultants will soon be hired to evaluate and appraise the technical zones’ potential.
During its 70th meeting, the Cabinet Committee on Law approved proposals to pair Punjab with the Chinese province of Hunan, Lahore with the Chinese city of Qingdao, and Multan with the Chinese metropolis of Chongqing.

During the cabinet meeting, an 18-point agenda from several departments was discussed, and numerous ideas were approved. The Board of Revenue and the Punjab Information Technology Board have signed a Service Level Agreement. The cabinet also passed the Punjab Empowerment Act 2021 for the disabled, the Punjab Ab Pash Forest and Ecotourism Act 2021, and the development of the Rachna Wildlife Park in Gujranwala.
