Punjab to Operationalize 8,000 Rural Revenue Centres
Taxila: Punjab Revenue Minister Col. (ret.) Muhammad Anwar Khan stated that 8,000 rural revenue centres will be operational by the end of December 2021, according to news reports. The project is part of a government initiative to bring land-related services to people’s doorsteps.

According to the minister, the government has already constructed 807 land record facilities in various districts of the province that provide services related to village-level land mutation transfer.
The automated system will be linked to NADRA in order to deliver a digital land-related resolution. It was emphasised that the revenue system was being modernised and made more transparent to better serve the public.
In addition, according to the minister, the government has linked the land record system with banks to provide e-stamping and data sharing, resulting in an 80% increase in departmental revenue. In addition, 23 banks now have access to the data. To date, the department of revenue has reclaimed 140,000 acres of land.

In addition, the minister added that development activities in the Rawalpindi region would soon commence, including the carpeting of the road running from Fatehjang to Pindigheb and the construction of a sports complex in Pindigheb.
