Rawalpindi Will Soon Receive Its First Regional Development Plan
ISLAMABAD, December 8, 2022- Rawalpindi will soon receive its first regional development plan and the pre-urban structural plans for the tehsil headquarters.
During a meeting at the offices of the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), which was presided over by the Commissioner for the Rawalpindi Division, Mr. Saqib Manan, a consultant from Mott MacDonald Pakistan gave a presentation on the regional development plans. The development work completed for the creation of the RDPs for the tehsils of Gujar Khan, Taxila, Kallar Syedan, and Kahuta was also updated to the participants, and the details were shared with the relevant local governments for input. Additionally, it was agreed to establish a coordination committee comprising planning officers from the local government and RDA to inform them of the progress of regional development plans. Additionally, the Project Management Unit (PMU) was established for the project’s implementation. The personnel of the unit would collaborate with the consultant and local government department to establish the urban planning and site development zones for the Rawalpindi Tehsil.
